FAQ
Where will my session take place?
Your massage will take place in a warm, comfortable, and tranquil room designed for peace and quiet. We play soft music to enhance your relaxation, and you will rest on a specialized table designed for maximum comfort.
What will the massage feel like?
Most sessions begin with broad, flowing strokes to calm the nervous system and release surface tension. As your body relaxes, I gradually increase pressure to address specific areas of muscular tightness. I typically use high-quality, hypoallergenic oils or lotions to prevent friction and hydrate your skin.
What should I do during my session?
Your only "job" is to relax! Before we start, feel free to ask any questions. During the session, many clients choose to close their eyes and rest. I will move your limbs gently as needed. Most importantly, please communicate if you need more or less pressure, or if you’d like the temperature adjusted. Massage is most effective when you are comfortable and not resisting.
Must I be completely undressed?
You should undress to your personal level of comfort. While many techniques are traditionally performed directly on the skin, it is entirely up to you what you choose to wear. Regardless of what you wear, you will be professionally draped with a clean sheet or towel at all times.
Will the therapist be present while I undress?
No. I will leave the room to allow you full privacy while you undress and get comfortable on the table. I will only re-enter once you are safely covered by the sheet.
Will I be covered during the session?
Yes. Professional draping is used at all times to ensure your warmth, modesty, and comfort. Only the specific area being worked on will be briefly exposed.
What are the benefits of massage and bodywork?
Massage is a powerful tool for wellness. It helps release chronic tension, improves circulation, and increases joint flexibility. Beyond the physical, it reduces mental fatigue, lowers stress, improves sleep quality, and promotes an overall sense of well-being.
How will I feel after my session?
Most clients leave feeling deeply relaxed and find relief from long-term aches. After an initial period of feeling "slowed down," you may experience a surge in energy and mental clarity that lasts for days. Because massage helps release metabolic waste from your tissues, I highly recommend drinking plenty of water following your appointment.
What parts of my body will be massaged?
In a typical full-body session, we will address the back, neck, shoulders, arms, hands, legs, feet, and head. However, every session is 100% customized to your needs.
Are there different types of massage available?
Yes! I utilize a diverse "toolkit" of modalities, including Swedish, Deep Tissue, Medical, Orthopedic, and Lymphatic Drainage. During our initial intake, we will discuss which techniques are best suited for your specific goals.
Are there medical conditions where massage is not advised?
Yes. Your safety is my priority, which is why a thorough health intake is required before your first session. It is vital that you inform me of any health conditions or medications. If you are currently under a doctor’s care for a serious condition, I strongly recommend obtaining a written recommendation or clearance from your physician prior to your session.
